The Ordinary General Assembly of the Polish Shipowners’ Association (ZAP) was held on 15 May this year. The special guest of the meeting was Secretary General of the European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA) – European Shipowners Sotiris Raptis.

Among the highlights of the meeting were, the adoption of the ZAP Board Report for 2024 and the discharge of ZAP members. In addition, the financial report for 2024 was adopted and approved.

At the meeting, ZAP Secretary General Marcin Talwik presented the statutory activities of the association. Among the highlights of these activities, he mentioned participation in the European Community Shipowners‘ Associations (ECSA) – European Shipowners’ Associations Committees and Working Groups, work within the Tripartite Group on Shipping and Sea Fisheries, as well as participation in conferences and training sessions. ZAP was also very active in its contacts with the state administration in terms of providing opinions on normative acts. Among them was the draft law on social insurance for seafarers.

During the meeting, the members of the current board of the ZAP were discharged: Dariusz Doskocz – President of the Board, Jacek WiÅ›niewski – Vice-President, Piotr Redmerski – Vice-President. At the same time, an additional board member was elected to represent the other key centre for shipowners in the Tricity. He was appointed as RadosÅ‚aw ChmieliÅ„ski of Chipolbrok. Due to Mr ChmieliÅ„ski’s resignation from the position of member of the Audit Committee, the composition of the Committee was supplemented by Ms Monika Lisatowicz – President of Polskie Ratownictwo OkrÄ™towe.

An important point of the meeting was the adoption of amendments to the statute, adapting the current statute to the needs resulting from the functioning of the Association in the new organisational, technological and legal reality.
