On 10 October 2025, an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Polish Shipowners’ Association was held at the headquarters of Polskie Linie Oceaniczne.

During the meeting, the current activities and plans of individual shipowners were discussed. Important information was exchanged regarding plans for new investments in tonnage. Next, the Secretary General presented the status of work on a act concerning support for shipping companies and the creation of conditions for their operation under the Polish flag. Next, the attendees were familiarised with the current issues being worked on by the ECSA.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the PLO invited all those present to the ceremonial unveiling of a commemorative plaque dedicated to Mr Julian Rummel – a shipbuilding engineer, co-creator of the idea of Gdynia and initiator of many pioneering maritime projects.

Julian Rummel was the first president of the Polish Shipowners’ Association, so you could say that he is our patron today. Together with the shipowners, we wanted to pay tribute to him in a symbolic way,’ said Radosław Marciniak.
